This morning we went on a whale watching trip with the Pacific Whale Foundation. I was so excited to see some Humpback whales upclose. When we first started out we stopped to listen to a male singing. It was so cool. They put a microphone in the water and then played it over the boats sound system. It was really loud. We learned that this years song lasts 13 minutes compared to 10 minutes last year and that the song changes every year.
We saw quite a few whales. One was really close but it was on the other side of the boat so I didn't get a really good shot of that one. I did manage to get some pretty good shots of others though. We saw a mother with a baby and then a competition of males, in which we saw the losers swim away. It turned out to be a great whale watching excursion.
Enjoying the trip.
