Oakridge Roommate Family Gathering

Wednesday, January 23

Tonight we got to catch up with friends. Kevin was roommates with these guys up at USU before everyone got married. It was great to see everyone and the kids had a ball. I think the last time we all got together was probably Christmas 2002.

Grandpa Keith comes to town

Last night we had a great time with Grandpa. He had business in town so we were able to spend some time with him. He got to meet his newest granddaughter and the boys were excited to show him how to play the Wii. We bowled, golfed, and boxed. Kenyon was really into boxing and was disappointed to not come out on top the first time around so they played again. Then Hunter boxed Grandpa and what a match that was. After a night filled with Wii it was time for bed. The boys wanted to stay up but it was a school night. With pjs on, teeth brushed, and prayers said, Grandpa Keith told them the story of Bologna - what a way to end the night.

I couldn't resist taking more pictures of Elise. She has been smiling at us for awhile now but I rarely get them on camera. So I ended up taking quite a few while she was enjoying her ride in her swing and came up with these.

Getting a new look...

For the last little while we have been looking to update some of our stuff - so we did our bedroom and main level family room. It is never fun looking for a piece of furniture when you have in your mind what you want and have a hard time finding it. Well on Saturday we found the armoire and also our bedding set, so it was a good day. With the armoire delivered and set-up it makes our family room look so much bigger and less cluttered. I have enjoyed sitting on the couch just admiring the beautiful piece of furniture. When it comes to our bedroom, I feel like it is just so inviting and keeps calling my name to come and relax. What a wonderful feeling.













































Another room we have finished is Elise's. I am going to take on the project of repainting the rocker and changing the fabric and then it will be complete. The room has not gotten a lot of use as of yet, since Elise is still in our bedroom but the boys have made it into another playroom. That is why there are castles and the Black Pearl in the corner of the room.

2 month check-up

Tuesday, January 15

Elise had her 2 month appointment and did very well. She weighed in at 11 pounds and is growing like crazy - 22 1/2 inches. She is in the 50th percentile on both. She is a healthy and thriving baby girl. When it came time for the shots, I must say that I am a pro. I have never been good with taking our little ones in for shots, so Kevin usually would come with. I didn't even think twice about shots this time. Elise was pleasant - smiling at the nurse and cooing like crazy. When she got stuck she cried but ended when it was all over. By the time we were leaving the office she was all smiles again and ready for a nap. What a champ!

Haircuts!

Saturday was a special day - the day we get ready for Sunday. Well sort of. All 3 boys went and had their hair cut by a professional. They all needed one and I didn't feel like going through the huge ordeal with the boys. So, we paid to have it done. Yeah!!!!! I was so thrilled. We were not sure how the boys were going to do since they give me so much grief at home. But they did well - sat still and did everything that was asked of them. They figured it out that if they sit still it doesn't take long at all.

I never got around to posting our family pictures that our friend Emily VanDyke took for us. Here are a few of our favorites. I didn't plan on having it snow that day, so we were not dressed appropriately. The kids cooperated and it didn't take long at all. I was really pleased with what we ended up with. I am also glad nobody got sick, especially Elise, who was only 2 1/2 weeks old.

Happy New Year!

Tonight we hung out with the family - eating, laughing, playing the wii and karoke. Everyone was having a great time. I was not sure if the boys would make it to midnight. Kenyon took a late nap so he was well rested for the night'sfestivities. They had more energy then I think I did. When the clock finally struck midnight I gathered our stuff and we headed home. I was really tired and just wanted to sleep.

We slept in which felt great, except Kenyon who got up at 7:30. We got ready for the day and headed over to G&G Grange's to say good-bye to Danny, Anna, Mackay, Sophia, and Spencer. Hunter was so sad that he wouldn't talk to anyone. Even teared up, which made me sad for him. It will be nice to have them moving to CO, so we will be able to see them more often. The rest of the day Kevin worked and I caught up on blogging, as you can see. Just another regular day for us.

Temple Square

Sunday, December 30

We tried a couple of nights over the last week to go to Temple Square but it took us until tonight to go. We left Elise with Grandpa & Grandma Grange and took the boys. We had a good time with the rest of the family that came. The lights are always beautiful. My favorite place is to see the lights that surround the Assembly Hall.

Elise's Blessing Day

Sunday, December 30

With so much family in town we thought it was a good time to bless Elise. I tortured her so much this morning that I am surprised I got so many good faces. We took more pictures right before we left for church. Elise had fallen asleep and looked peaceful - our little angel. We are grateful to all those that came to support us.
