Water, water everywhere...

Yesterday afternoon we arrived home to find our house was being taken over by water. Our master bathroom toilet has always run off and on. Well yesterday it decided to not stop and it made a mess of everything. It leeked from upstairs to our main level family room and our basement family room. We were able to get a restoration company to our home last night. So, with the carpet ripped up and the pad removed they were able to place many fans throughout the rooms to help dry everything. I am grateful to have Kevin's parents so close that we are staying with them for a few days. I was at the house today dealing with things (Kevin is out of town) and I could hardly think with all the fans and the humidity. I took a few pictures so you could get a glimpse into what is happening. It will be nice to get the repairs underway hopefully next week.

That stinks! We had a minor flood last year when our water heater died, but it was in our garage, so we only had to cleanup and get rid of a few things. We'll be thinking of you!

I am so sorry that that happened! I hope the clean up and fixing all goes well - and quickly. It was so much fun to be able to talk to you today! You can call anytime!

We're feeling for you. What a crappy thing to come home to. These are the moments you try to say well it could have been worse, but what you are really thinking is this sucks!

That's terrible! 3 days after we bought our new house we came over to find the basement flooding. It's a horrible feeling and it was even an unfinished basement! So sorry!

chels, that awful! On a whim I checked your blog this morning. What rotten news! It is nice that you have family close by to stay with, but sad that Kevin is out of town. Keep us all updated!

We had similar things happen,(our upstairs neighbor's water heater died and slow and painful death) right before I had Cannon, and again when he was a week old. Then when Elliot was a couple months old, our washing machine died... and flooded us and our down stairs neighbors. (gravity works, eh?) I HATED the fans and the noise and humidity. I can totally appreciate that I had the apartment complex to deal with my problem and you had to do it! What a disaster! Hope it all gets better quickly and things can get back to normal!!
